Brett Robison

Executive Director at Topeka Symphony

Brett Robison joined the Topeka Symphony Orchestra in May 2021 as Executive Director. Brett brings an extensive background in nonprofit leadership as a former founder, artistic director, and executive director of the music nonprofit organization Scottsdale Musical Arts (SMA), in Scottsdale, AZ. Part of his responsibilities with SMA included building and directing both a youth orchestra and adult orchestra program that served and enhanced the Phoenix and Scottsdale communities. Before coming to Northeast Kansas, Brett had been a full time assistant professor of music at Viterbo University where he directed the choral program and taught conducting, choral methods, music appreciation, and voice. Early in his career, Brett was a public school educator and taught vocal and choral music in Minnesota, Iowa, and Arizona. Brett has found a calling in nonprofit leadership and recently completed his Master of Business Administration degree to strengthen his marketing, strategic planning, fundraising, and management skills. He brings a growth mindset to the organizations he serves and a passion for music, music education, and working for the underserved in the communities. Brett loves to travel, hike, read, golf, and spend quality time with his wife, three children, and grandson.
