Topeka Symphony
Kathy Maag has been involved with the Topeka Symphony for more than 30 years, beginning as a dedicated volunteer and member of the Symphony League, including serving as president. She served as the volunteer General Manager from 2001 to 2003. In 2003 she became the full-time general manager of the TSO. She was honored with the Charles Marling Award in 2002. She continues her work at the Symphony, focusing on patron, musician, and board communications, as well as helping cultivate corporate and individual sponsorships and overall support for the Symphony. Kathy’s lifelong love of music was cultivated at a young age and continued through her years as a student at Washburn University where she received her BBA degree and was a member of the Washburn Belles. Kathy’s passion for and commitment to the TSO all these years comes from a desire to see that the Topeka Symphony continues to grow, not only as a professional orchestra which enriches the community, but that the organization continues to provide support for young musicians throughout northeast Kansas. Kathy’s volunteer interests include Washburn University, Alpha Phi, Minerva Club and her church. Kathy and her husband, Jim, have two children and four grandchildren.
