David van der Merwe

David van der Merwe is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in software and design engineering. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at TOPIC Embedded Systems since September 2023, David previously held similar positions at Saab and Parsec from November 2021 to September 2023 and December 2016 to November 2021, respectively. At Parsec, David contributed to the development of test jigs for PCB testing and worked on minimum viable products, including a U2F-capable password storage device. Prior to that, David took a sabbatical for travel after working at Telkom from January 2012 to July 2015, where responsibilities included maintaining an Operations Support System and introducing new equipment into the core network. David holds a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer and Electronic Engineering from North-West University.
