Andrea Gil Batres is a seasoned engineer specializing in safety, cybersecurity, and functional safety within the field of autonomous and electric vehicles. Currently serving as a Senior Systems Engineer - Safety at Torc Robotics since May 2024, Andrea previously held the role of Engineering Leader - Cybersecurity and Functional Safety at kVA by UL, managing client programs for compliance with industry standards such as ISO/SAE 21434 and ISO 26262. With a strong background in research and development for electric autonomous technologies at the International Transportation Innovation Center, Andrea has also contributed to projects at Cisco, focusing on connected vehicles and Internet of Things solutions. Academic credentials include a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University and a Bachelor of Engineering from Central America University.
