Heather Zordel

Heather Zordel is an accomplished legal professional and academic with extensive experience in corporate and securities law. Currently serving as the Chair of the Ontario Securities Commission since February 2019, Zordel also holds the position of Tribunal Panel Member and previously worked as a Part-Time Commissioner. In addition, Zordel is a Corporate & Securities Lawyer at Gardiner Roberts LLP and an Adjunct Professor at York University's Osgoode Hall Law School. Leadership roles include Chair of the Board of Directors for the Condominium Authority of Ontario and a Board Member of Toronto Hydro Corporation, where responsibilities involve membership on the Audit Committee and chairing Toronto Hydro Energy Services Inc. Zordel's previous experience includes key positions at LAWPRO, Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP, Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP, Smith Lyons, and the Toronto Stock Exchange. Zordel holds a Doctor of Law (JD) and LL.M. in Securities from York University - Osgoode Hall Law School, along with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan.
