Markus Bauer, CPA, CA has over a decade of experience in finance and accounting. Markus began their career at Sievert & Sawrantschuk LLP, where they served as a Senior Accountant from 2008 to 2014. Following this, they joined Martinrea International as a Senior Internal Auditor for a brief period in 2014. In 2015, Markus joined the Ontario Centre of Innovation as a Finance Manager, where they worked until 2019. Most recently, they have taken on progressive roles at the Toronto Region Board of Trade, starting as a Director of Finance in 2021 and currently serving as the Senior Director of Finance.

Markus Bauer, CPA, CA has a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) degree in Accounting from Ryerson University and the Ted Rogers School of Management - Toronto Metropolitan University, which they obtained from 2004 to 2008. Additionally, they hold the Chartered Accountant certification from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and is also a Chartered Professional Accountant certified by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada. Markus has furthered their education by completing the Certificate in Not-For-Profit and Charity Finance Leadership from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA Ontario). Markus has also obtained the Confident Coach certification from Leadership Insight Inc.
