Gary Downie

Gary Downie is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the transportation and infrastructure sectors. Currently serving as the Special Advisor in the CEO Office at the Toronto Transit Commission since December 2017, Gary has held several high-level positions including Chief Capital Officer, Chief of Major Projects, Chief Transit Expansion Officer, and Chief Project Manager. Prior to this role, Gary was the Head of Delivery for Major Projects at London Underground from April 2013 to December 2017 and held various leadership roles at Tube Lines and Babcock International Group PLC over a tenure spanning from 1992 to 2013. Gary's educational background includes an MBA from Edinburgh Napier University and a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the West of Scotland.
