Scot Yonan

Director of Instructional Design at Total Seminars

Scot Yonan has over 20 years of work experience in the instructional design and technology industry. Scot began their career in 1998 as a Developmental Editing Lead at Microsoft, where they wrote and edited 1,200-page books of enterprise-level content. In 2004, they joined Kaplan Higher Education as a Manager of Academic Technology, where they managed academic technology strategy, integration, development, and training. Scot was also a Senior Instructional Designer, creating program planning, courses, faculty training, and technology implementation for all undergraduate and graduate Information Technology programs. In 2010, they moved to John Wiley and Sons as a Senior Program Development Manager, where they took on-ground programs at universities and put them online. In 2017, they founded Rocket Education Group, LLC as Principal, where they worked with the best instructional designers and technologists to create online educational content. Most recently, in 2021, they joined CompTIA Tech Career Academy as Director of Instructional Design and in 2022 they became Director of Instructional Design at Total Seminars.

Scot Yonan holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in English Literature from Millikin University and has obtained the Academic Service Champion certification from Credly in November 2016.
