Joy Shan-Chun Kuo

Joy Shan-Chun Kuo has been a Senior Software Engineer at TotallyMoney since 2021. Prior to that, they were a Music Blogger at 好青年的音樂清單 from 2004-2017, a Software Engineer (Geovation Hub) at Ordnance Survey from 2017-2021, a Java Cloud & Android Developer at Institute for Information Industry from 2015-2017, and a Researcher at TU Dortmund University from 2012-2015. In their role as a Music Blogger, they introduced music in any genre from all over the world, translated English lyrics to Mandarin, and had reached over million page views. As a Software Engineer (Geovation Hub), they helped startups build their products for demo and investment, utilized agile methodology, location data, and technologies, and provided technical and OS/HMLR/BGS data support to more than 1000 members in Geovation community. As a Java Cloud & Android Developer, they built a website and native Android app about hiking activities and emergency support for hikers in Taiwan, which were developed using the Eclipse IDE and Android Studio, deployed in the cloud using Amazon Web Services, and implemented MVC architecture with J2EE using Servlet, JNDI, JSTL, JSP, Oracle SQL, JavaScript/jQuery/Ajax, Google Cloud Messaging in JSON format, etc.

Joy Shan-Chun Kuo obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Yuan-Ze University between 2007 and 2011. Joy Shan-Chun then went on to earn a Master's degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology between 2011 and 2013. In 2015, Joy Shan-Chun Kuo began a Master's Degree in Engineering with Management at King's College London, which they completed in 2016. In 2017, they obtained a Google Developer Challenge Scholarship from Udacity.
