Felita McCaskill

Felita McCaskill, MHA, RHIA, CCS-P has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Felita currently serves as the Senior Director Revenue Cycle at Touchette Regional Hospital, where they have been since 2018. In this role, Felita is responsible for leading all revenue cycle activities, including patient access, financial assistance, health information, and patient accounts. Felita has also streamlined workflow processes and developed off-site charge capture processes for Covid vaccines.

Prior to joining Touchette Regional Hospital, Felita worked at HSHS Medical Group as the Director of Front End Revenue Cycle, overseeing professional coding, charge capture, and HIM functions for nearly 500 providers across central and southern Illinois. Felita also managed a team of 11 employees and participated in various Epic Access and Revenue Cycle Readiness workgroups.

Felita has experience in the pharmaceutical industry as well, having worked as a Field Reimbursement Manager at Xcenda. In this role, they supported the needs of the pharmaceutical biologics sales force and their customers, providing education on billing and coding, financial assistance, and issue resolution.

Felita also has experience in clinical trials reimbursement and revenue cycle management at BJC HealthCare and Washington University School of Medicine, where they were responsible for various aspects of revenue cycle operations and supervision of coding and billing staff.

Felita began their career at Coventry Health Care, an Aetna Company, where they served as a Health Information Director, Educator, Auditor, and Data Quality Coordinator for Group Health Plan. Felita provided education and support to physicians and staff on appropriate medical records documentation for coding.

Felita McCaskill, MHA, RHIA, CCS-P earned a Master's degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from Webster University in 2014. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Health Information Management/Medical Records Administration from Illinois State University. In 2012, they completed a HITPRO Certificate in EHR Implementation Specialist from St. Louis Community College. In 2015, they became a Lean Change Leader after completing the Lean/Six Sigma/Process Improvement program at HSHS Medical Group. Additionally, Felita obtained several certifications including Epic Resolute Professional Billing Coding/Charge Capture from Epic in 2017, AHIMA-Approved ICD-10-CM Trainer from AHIMA in 2012, CCS-P and RHIA certifications from AHIMA.
