Molecular Biologist at Touchlight Genetics

Alex Cotton began their work experience in 2013 as a Research Assistant at Royal Holloway, University of London, where they assisted a Plant Molecular Biology PhD student with experiments. They then became a Research Technician at the same institution in 2014, working on literary research and performing meta-analyses on data related to second-generation biofuels. In the same year, they also worked as a Biologist at Syngenta. They joined Tutor Doctor as an Economics Tutor in 2014 and worked until 2016. From 2016 to 2021, Alex was a PhD Research Student at University College London. Currently, as of May 2020, they are employed as a Molecular Biologist at Touchlight Genetics Ltd.

Alex Cotton's education history begins in 2009 when they enrolled at Royal Holloway, University of London for a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biochemistry. They completed their undergraduate studies in 2012. In 2012, Alex continued their education at the same institution and obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree, specializing in Plant Pathology and Molecular Science, which they completed in 2013. After their master's degree, Alex pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biochemical Engineering at UCL, starting in 2016 and completing in 2019.
