Allison Stein

Allison Stein has extensive work experience in various technical writing and marketing communication roles. Allison began their career in 1995 as a Marketing Staff Writer and Media Relations Manager at Cerner Corporation, where they developed media relations strategies and created marketing collateral. Allison later worked at Netsales Inc. as a Marketing Communications Manager, managing marketing communications and media relations strategies, and conducting competitive intelligence research.

From 2001 to 2002, Allison worked as a Marketing Communications Manager at Thazar Solutions, where they developed and implemented marketing programs for a business intelligence product suite. Allison was responsible for creating and implementing marketing and media materials, advertising, and web content.

In 2002, they joined Foss Training / Centriq Training as a Curriculum & Creative Services Specialist, writing and editing course descriptions and managing course materials. Allison also developed processes for department operations and inventory management.

Allison then worked at Data Systems International as a Marketing Communications Specialist, where they wrote sales and marketing collateral, press releases, web content, and newsletters. Allison also collaborated with the team to create SEO-optimized content for the corporate website.

From 2010 to 2016, they worked for various companies as a Technical Writer, including a nine-month project with Sprint where they wrote and revised articles for a business customer support knowledgebase. At FMC Technologies Inc. / Control Systems International, they wrote documentation, release notes, and articles for the knowledgebase to support the company's fuel terminal automation system.

Allison also has experience in web development, having served as the Web Director for NFPW.org at the National Federation of Press Women from 2011 to 2018. Currently, they are working as a Lead Technical Writer at TouchNet Information Systems, Inc., where they write, edits, and manages client-facing documentation and release notes for various TouchNet systems and mobile applications. Allison collaborates with cross-departmental teams to produce internal support documents and proofreads client-facing communications and presentations.

In addition to their technical writing roles, Allison has volunteered as the Social Media and Marketing coordinator for ConQuesT Science Fiction & Fantasy Convention since 2009, where they are responsible for promoting the convention through social media platforms.
