Matt Smith

Matt Smith is a seasoned plant operator with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry. Currently employed at Tourmaline Oil Corp since April 2021, Matt has previously held positions as a lead operator at Hammerhead Resources Inc. and as an oil battery operator at Surge Energy. Early career roles included gas plant operator at Murphy Oil and field operator at ConocoPhillips, where Matt was responsible for optimizing operations, maintenance of equipment, and commissioning of new facilities. Matt holds a degree as an apprentice steamfitter-pipefitter from Fairview College and has relevant educational experience from Beaverlodge.
