Wanjiku Gachugi has a diverse range of work experience. Wanjiku is currently serving as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Town of Acton, MA, where they develop strategies and policies to advance equity issues and ensures compliance with relevant statutes. Previously, they worked as a Management and Program Analyst for the US Government Accountability Office, where they conducted research and provided recommendations for projects related to education and workforce. Wanjiku also served as a Health System Specialist for the VA Biorepository Brain Bank and a Program Manager for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Additionally, Wanjiku has worked as a consultant, advisor, and graduate teaching assistant, gaining experience in various fields such as healthcare, research, and education.
Wanjiku Gachugi holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from The George Washington University- Milken Institute School of Public Health. Wanjiku is currently a Ph.D. candidate (ABD) at Howard University, specializing in Traditional Maternal Health Care Policy in Africa. Wanjiku also earned an M.A degree in International Development from the American University School of International Service. Furthermore, they obtained a B.A Cum Laude degree with a minor in communications from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Additionally, Wanjiku Gachugi has a Birth Doula Certification from DONA International, which they obtained in May 2008.
