Celeste Sherer currently serves as a Senior Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Consultant for the Town of Apex since March 2023. Prior to this role, Celeste was the Diversity Engagement Coordinator at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department from January 2022 to February 2023 and held the position of Education Specialist at the Texas Historical Commission between October 2020 and December 2021. Additional experience includes directing education and programs at George Ranch Historical Park and serving as an Executive Assistant for Glenis Redmond. Celeste's background also encompasses the role of Director of Guest Experience and Engagement at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, Assistant Director of Historic Sites for the City of Raleigh Municipal Government, and Interpreter and Volunteer Coordinator at Historic Brattonsville/Culture & Heritage Museums. Celeste began a career in interpretation at Carl Sandburg Nhs from 2009 to 2012. Celeste holds a Bachelor of Science in Art Management and Cultural Resources from Appalachian State University, attained between 2008 and 2014.
