Rescue Chief at Town of Blacksburg

David English has a strong work history in public safety. David currently serves as the Rescue Chief for the Town of Blacksburg, a position they have held since February 2023. Prior to this role, David was the President/CEO of Public Safety Leader LLC, starting in April 2018. David also has experience as a Paramedic with the Blacksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad, starting in December 2004. Additionally, David worked as a Training Coordinator for the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office from June 2008 until February 2023.

David English completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Virginia Tech from 2003 to 2007. David then pursued an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in Emergency Medical Technology/Technician (EMT Paramedic) from Southwest Virginia Community College between 2012 and 2014. In 2015, David returned to Virginia Tech to obtain a Graduate Certificate in Local Government Administration, which they completed in the following year. Finally, from 2015 to 2019, they pursued a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from Virginia Tech.
