Kandace French Contreras, MMC, CLA, MA, currently serves as the Town Clerk/Treasurer for the Town of Carefree since April 2013, and as Chairwoman of the Arizona Racing Commission for the Arizona Department of Gaming since May 2022, where responsibilities include regulating and supervising racing and pari-mutuel/simulcast wagering in Arizona. Previously, Kandace worked as a Certification and Licensing Specialist/Judicial Nominating Administrator for the Arizona Supreme Court from February 2003 to April 2013. Kandace holds a Master of Arts in Communication and Leadership from Bellevue University and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Court Management and Communications from Arizona State University.
