Doug Beninate

Chief Building Inspector at Town of Cary

Doug Beninate has over 30 years of work experience in construction and building code enforcement. Doug started their career as a Field Engineer at Gervais Favrot Construction, where they oversaw the engineering of large high-rise buildings in the New Orleans area. After ten years, they joined Donohoe Construction Company as a Superintendent, managing construction projects. Since 2000, Doug has been working as the Chief Building Inspector for the Town of Cary, responsible for enforcing building codes and conducting inspections for residential and commercial construction. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated expertise in managing construction projects and ensuring code compliance.

Doug Beninate attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA from 1975 to 1978, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Construction Management. Prior to their time at LSU, they also attended Louisiana State University from 1970 to 1972 to study Building Construction Technology, though they did not earn a degree in this field.
