Sonja Bovan

Sonja Bovan, CPA, CA, currently serves as the Manager of Accounting Services and Deputy Treasurer for the Town of Fort Erie, a position held since January 2022. Prior experience includes the role of Assistant Director of Finance and Deputy Treasurer at the Town of Grimsby, where responsibilities encompassed staff management, budget development, and financial reporting. Sonja Bovan has also worked as a General Accountant at Walker Industries, a freelance accountant, and an auditor at Grant Thornton LLP, gaining extensive expertise in financial statements, budgeting, audit procedures, and process improvements. An educational background includes an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Brock University and participation in French studies at Université de Montréal.
