Thomas Dunn

Thomas Dunn is an experienced emergency management professional currently serving as Emergency Manager for the Town of Hilton Head Island since May 2012. Previous roles include Principal Emergency Management Planner at the Richmond Regional Planning District Commission and State Planner for the Virginia Department of Emergency Management, where responsibilities included developing the Commonwealth of Virginia Emergency Operations Plan and creating Incident Briefs and After Action Reports. Thomas also served as a Firefighter for the City of Alexandria from September 1992 to May 2005. Educational credentials include a Master's degree in Disaster Science from the University of Richmond and a BA in Public Safety Planning and Response from Virginia Commonwealth University. Thomas completed a graduate program at the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce, focusing on local challenges and community project initiatives.
