Robert Moore has extensive law enforcement experience, currently serving as a School Resource Officer and Community Services Sergeant for the Town of Huntersville since May 2012. In this role, Robert Moore assigns tasks and oversees day-to-day operations to support the lieutenant while also interacting with the public and managing volunteers. Previously, Robert Moore served as a Patrol Sergeant and Police Officer/Field Training Officer, where responsibilities included training police recruits and processing crime scenes for evidence. Earlier experience includes serving as a Police Officer with the Winston-Salem Police Department from August 2003 to May 2012. Robert Moore graduated from the Winston-Salem Police Academy in 2004 and holds an Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice/Police Science from Surry Community College, obtained in 2002. Robert Moore completed secondary education at East Surry High School, graduating in 2000.

The Town of Huntersville is one of the fastest growing communities in North Carolina with a population of over 60,000. Huntersville is an excellent place to live, work and play. The town is a residential destination for many families, boasts excellent shopping centers, first rate medical and recreation amenities, and continues to attract new industry to the area. In addition, Huntersville’s location in the larger metropolitan area provides easy access to Charlotte Douglas International Airport, professional sports venues, outstanding arts and cultural opportunities, many race headquarters and tracks, and access to Lake Norman. The town was incorporated in 1873 and operates under a Council-Manager form of government. The Town Board of Commissioners consists of a mayor and six commissioners. The Town has 180 plus employees working in six departments: Administration/Finance, Engineering, Public Works, Parks and Recreation, Planning, and Police. In addition, the town works closely with the volunteer fire department (Huntersville Fire), the regional economic development agency (Lake Norman Economic Development), and two enterprise funded organizations (Electricities and Huntersville Family Fitness and Aquatics).
