Marissa W.

Marissa W. is an experienced urban planner currently employed at the Town of Leland since August 2022, with a strong background in environmental education and coastal planning. Prior roles include serving as a MPA Fellow at New Hanover County and a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Marissa has been a dedicated volunteer with the Wrightsville Beach Sea Turtle Project since April 2014, contributing to sea turtle conservation efforts. Additional experience includes positions as an Administrative Assistant at Cape Fear Commercial, an Associate Account Manager at The Select Group, and a Manager at South End Surf Shop. Marissa holds a Master of Public Administration in Coastal Planning and a Bachelor of Arts in Parks, Recreation and Leisure Studies, both from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
