Kanwal Aftab

Kanwal Aftab is an experienced Urban Designer currently working for the Town of Oakville since November 2022, and also serves as a PhD Candidate and Sessional Lecturer at the University of Toronto. Previous roles include Urban Designer and Urban Design Coordinator at the City of Brampton from September 2019 to November 2022, and Urban Designer and Landscape Architect at SvN Architects + Planners from August 2018 to April 2019. Kanwal has been involved in academia as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Toronto and a Research Assistant to Professor Liat Margolis. Additional experience includes editorial work with Ground Magazine and internships in landscape architecture and architecture. Academic credentials include a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Toronto, a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan, and a BFA in Architecture/Design from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
