Manuel "Manny" Amado is an experienced law enforcement professional, currently serving as Police Commander for the Town of Sahuarita since November 2021. Previously, Amado held the position of Chief of Police/Director of Public Safety for the City of South Tucson from November 2017 to November 2021. Prior to that, Amado served as Director of Campus Safety-Emergency Manager at Regis University and spent nearly two decades at Pima Community College Police Department, ultimately as Chief of Police/Executive Director of Public Safety. Amado's early career includes roles as Traffic Unit Supervisor at South Tucson Police Department and various positions at Pima County Sheriff’s Department. Academic qualifications include a Master of Education in Educational Psychology from Northern Arizona University and a Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice from Mountain State University, along with several professional leadership certifications.
