Town of Silverthorne
The Town of Silverthorne is a local government agency and home rule community consisting of a council-manager government with power vested in an elected, 7-member Town Council. The Town Council enacts local legislation, adopts budgets, determines policies, and appoints a Town manager to administer the Town government. Located in Summit County, Colorado, at the heart of the Rocky Mountains, the Town of Silverthorne has magnificent natural beauty, which attracts visitors year-round. The Town is considered by many to be the gateway to Summit County and the Western Slope due to its excellent location as the first exit west of the Eisenhower Tunnel along I-70. There are five ski areas within a half-hour ride of Town: Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, and Loveland. Among the many amenities are the Blue River, the Raven at Three Peaks Golf Course, a variety of parks, the Town Recreation Center, the Town Pavilion, and the Blue River Trail, which connects to the countywide bike path system.
