John Goltermann, CFA, CGMA has extensive work experience in the finance industry. John currently holds the position of Senior Vice President, Chief Investment Officer at Townsend. Prior to that, they were the President and owner of Highgate Securities Investments, where they provided investment management, portfolio strategy, and client advocacy to high-net-worth individuals and families. John also served as Senior Vice President and Partner at Obermeyer Wood Investment Counsel, LLLP, and as Senior Vice President at Obermeyer Asset Management Company. Earlier in their career, they worked as an Investment Adviser and Corporate Accountant at Janus Capital Corporation and Janus Service Corporation. Throughout their career, John has demonstrated expertise in global equity strategy, analytical work on publicly traded securities, and credit analysis on fixed income instruments. John has also managed client relationships and provided market commentary through various mediums.

John Goltermann, CFA, CGMA has an impressive education history. John obtained an MBA in Finance from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University from 1998 to 2000. Prior to that, they attended the University of Colorado Boulder from 1985 to 1989, where they studied Economics. John completed their high school education at York High School from 1981 to 1985, and before that, they attended Avery Coonley from 1978 to 1981.

In addition to their educational achievements, John has also obtained several certifications. John is a Chartered Global Management Accountant, having obtained this certification from the AICPA in May 2012. John is also a Certified Public Accountant, which they obtained from the AICPA in March 2002. Furthermore, John holds the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, which they received from the CFA Institute in September 2001. Finally, they have a Commercial Pilot certification from the Federal Aviation Administration, which they obtained in April 1986.
