Dr Paul Welch

Dr. Paul Welch serves as the Head of Teaching and Learning at Townsville Grammar School since January 2020 and holds an adjunct lecturer position at James Cook University in the College of Medicine and Dentistry from April 2019. With a PhD focused on fostering clinical reasoning skills, Dr. Welch's previous roles include Science Teacher at St Patrick's College Townsville and Senior Medical Education Officer at Mater, where a commitment to high-quality medical education for interns was evident. Additional experience encompasses a Development Manager role at James Cook University, enhancing medical education and research across northern Australia, and contributions to Queensland Health as a Senior Medical Education Officer, where Dr. Welch initiated the successful More Internal Medicine for Intern (MIMI) program. Dr. Welch holds multiple degrees, including a PhD in Medical Education from James Cook University and a Master of Arts in Education Management from Keele University.
