Christopher Powers

Christopher Powers serves as the Assistant Vice President for International Initiatives at Towson University since 2022. Previously, Christopher held the position of Vice President for Exchange Programs at AMIDEAST, overseeing exchange programs between the Middle East, North Africa, and the United States from 2020 to 2021. From 2017 to 2020, Christopher was the Executive Director of TESOL International Association, responsible for the strategic and operational management of services for language educators worldwide. Christopher also directed the Education Abroad Programs at the Institute of International Education from 2002 to 2017 and managed special programs at NAFSA: Association of International Educators for nearly a decade. Christopher holds a Master of Arts in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from James Madison University.
