Sean Welsh is the VP of University Marketing & Communications at Towson University. Prior to their current position, Sean was the Digital & Breaking News Editor at The Baltimore Sun from November 2013 to March 2018. In this role, Sean provided news, events, directory listings and a voice for the community in Aberdeen, MD. Prior to working at The Baltimore Sun, Sean was the Associate Regional Editor at Patch.com from August 2010 to October 2013 where they managed multiple regions of news sites spread across Baltimore, Anne Arundel County, Baltimore County and Harford County.

Sean Welsh began their career in journalism as a sports reporter for The Baltimore Examiner from March 2006 to February 2009. Sean then became a freelance reporter/broadcaster from February 2009 to November 2013. During this time, Sean also worked as a Survey Crew Chief for Welsh Engineering from February 2009 to August 2010 and as a Varsity Baseball Coach for Harford County Public Schools from January 2009 to January 2011.

Sean Welsh played baseball at Harford Community College before transferring to Towson University, where they completed their B.S. in Communications.
