Melanie Turner

Melanie Turner has a strong background in finance and accounting. Melanie is currently working as the Director of Finance and Accounting at Marine Toys for Tots Foundation since May 2023. Prior to that, they held the role of Foundation Corporate Accountant at the same organization from September 2021 to May 2023.

Before joining Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, Melanie worked at Greater Prince William Community Health Center as an Accounting Manager from April 2018 to September 2021 and as a Senior Accountant from April 2015 to April 2018.

Earlier in their career, Melanie gained experience as an Accounting Manager at Bancroft, McGavin, Horvath & Judkins, PC from December 2012 to April 2015. Melanie also worked as an Office Manager/Controller at FDAnews from June 2012 to December 2012.

Melanie's previous role was as a Senior Accountant at BDO USA, LLP from December 2007 to May 2012. Melanie also served as an Accounting Manager/Office Manager at MacDowell & Associates, P.C. from October 2004 to December 2007.

Melanie's career in finance started at SunTrust Bank, where they worked as a Teller Coordinator from April 2002 to October 2004. Earlier on, they were employed as a Billing Specialist at MacDowell & Associates, P.C. from October 2000 to April 2002.

Melanie Turner pursued their education in a sequential manner, starting from 2000 with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Administration of Justice from Northern Virginia Community College. Following this, they attended Marymount University between 2004 and 2007, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies. Melanie's educational journey continued in 2023, nearly two decades later, when they attended James Madison University to pursue an Executive MBA degree in Executive Leadership, which they completed in 2024.
