Mike Szmatula

Mike Szmatula is an experienced professional in both athletics and coaching. Currently serving as an Academic Success Coach at TPH Academy since August 2023, Mike has previously worked as an Account Executive at United Wholesale Mortgage. Before retirement in April 2023, Mike had a notable career as a professional hockey player, which included stints with SønderjyskE and Jacksonville Icemen, where leadership skills were demonstrated as assistant captain during the 2021-2022 season. Mike's coaching experience includes mentoring youth at Orchard Lake St. Mary's Preparatory and working with USA Hockey on skill development and instruction. A former student-athlete at the University of Minnesota, Mike holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology.
