Syed Waqas Ahmed

Syed Waqas Ahmed has a diverse work experience in the insurance industry. Syed began their career in 2007 at East West Life Assurance Company Limited as a Senior Office Assistant in the Group Operations department, where they were responsible for maintaining records and reviewing hospital claims. In 2010, they joined Pak-Qatar Family Takaful Limited as an Executive Officer and later as a Senior Executive Officer in the Group Operations department. Syed worked on the award-winning software, PENTA TAKAFUL, and was involved in underwriting, schemes administration, and policy evaluation. In 2015, Syed joined KASB Modaraba as a Manager Operations, responsible for banca takaful and ADCs. Since 2016, they have been working at TPL Life Insurance Limited, initially as an Assistant Manager and currently as the Head of Takaful. In this role, they oversee various operational activities related to group life and health operations, underwriting, client services, and special projects. Syed also focuses on the technical and operations aspects of group family takaful and group health takaful. Throughout their career, Syed has demonstrated their expertise in insurance operations and has gained experience in conventional and takaful insurance.

Syed Waqas Ahmed has a diverse educational background. In 2004, they completed their Intermediate education with a focus on Pre Engineering at Government National College. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor of Commerce degree at Karachi University, which they successfully completed in 2009. In 2011, they furthered their education at the PAF Karachi Institute of Economics & Technology, where they obtained a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Islamic Banking Finance & Takaful. In 2012, they enrolled in Karachi University again and pursued an M.Com (Insurance) degree, completing it in 2013. Syed Waqas Ahmed also attended a Business School called Success Network in 2015, where they obtained a Diploma in Business & Marketing. Additionally, in the same year, they participated in a Product Training Workshop at Pak-Qatar Family Takaful Limited and received a Certificate in Takaful.
