Brian Garraty has a strong background in information technology and software engineering. Brian started their career in 1996 as a Software Engineer at Appropriate Technologies, Inc. and later worked as an Information Services Consultant at Metro Information Services. In 2000, they joined Business Engine as a Software Engineer. Brian then served as the Director of Business Intelligence Services and Senior Software Engineer at Appropriate Technologies, Inc. from 2002 to 2004. In 2004, they became a Database Administrator at Virginia Beach City Public Schools and held this role until 2013. Since then, they have worked at Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group, first as a Solutions Architect and then as the Information Services Manager. Currently, they hold the position of Information Technology Director at the same company. Additionally, from 2010 to 2012, they were a Leadership Team Member at the Hampton Roads SQL Server and SharePoint User Group.
Brian Garraty attended Virginia Wesleyan College from 1994 to 1997, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Information Services. Prior to that, from 1992 to 1996, they attended American University and studied Computer Information Services. Brian also holds a certification in MCITP: Database Administrator on SQL Server 2005, which they obtained from Microsoft in May 2008.

Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group, formerly Tidewater Primary Care Physicians, P.C. was formed in 1992. Our group began with four primary care medical groups in Newport News, Hampton and Yorktown, Virginia. Today, TPMG includes over 220 primary care, specialty physicians and advanced practice clinicians in 87 locations who provide care to patients throughout southeastern Virginia. Our physicians have long-standing relationships with the patients they serve and are well-respected for their medical and community leadership.
