Joel Sherman

Joel Sherman has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. In 2011, they worked as a Field & Laboratory Technician at the University of California, Santa Cruz. From 2012 to 2014, they were an Intern at the San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy and later a Production Brewer & Quality Assurance at Stone Brewing. In 2017, they joined AECOM as a UAS Regional Manager, where they led UAS operations and automated data collection, analytics, and reporting until 2020. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Operations (U.S.A) at TraceAir Technologies, starting in December 2020.

Joel Sherman's education history includes a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering from UC Irvine, obtained from 2016 to 2017. Joel also completed an Executive Education Program in 2022 at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business. In terms of undergraduate education, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Plant Sciences and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz, from 2010 to 2012. Additionally, they hold an Associate of Science (A.S.) in Mathematics from MiraCosta College, achieved in 2015 to 2016, as well as an Associate of Arts (A.A.) in Plant Biology from the same institution, earned from 2008 to 2010. Joel Sherman has also obtained a certification as an FAA Certified UAS Pilot from the Federal Aviation Administration in October 2017.
