Sonam V. has had a varied work experience, beginning with a Congressional Intern role at the District Office of Congressman Jeff Denham in 2014. Sonam then worked as a Research Intern at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies, where they monitored developments and conducted research on terrorism and counterterrorism, developed and maintained a database, compiled bibliographies and chronologies, and gathered, copy edited, and proofread materials for publications. In 2015, they worked as a Political and Security Risk Analysis Intern for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) Team at Riskline, and as a Democracy Program Intern at The Carter Center. Sonam then worked for The Clorox Company from 2016 to 2019, first as a Sales Capabilities Analyst, then as an Administrative Assistant/Sales Information Coordinator, and finally as a Sales Information Coordinator. Most recently, Sonam has been working as an Implementations Data Engineer at TrackStreet since 2019.

Sonam V. attended the University of the Pacific from 2011 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Affairs. In 2013, they studied International/Global Studies at the American University of Sharjah. Sonam also completed a Summer Intensive Language Program in Arabic at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey in 2013.
