Alex Egner

Alex Egner has over 18 years of work experience as a professor, graphic designer, and art director. Currently, since August 2021, they work as an Associate Professor at Western Washington University, having been an Assistant Professor there since September 2017. Additionally, they also work as an Art Director / Creative Director at Traction, starting in September 2021. Before these positions, they worked as a Graphic Designer and Art Director at their own company, Alex Egner, from October 2004. Prior to WWU, Alex also worked at the University of North Texas as an Associate Professor (May 2015 to May 2017) and Assistant Professor (August 2009 to May 2015). Alex also served as an Adjunct Professor from 2008 to 2009 and Graphic Designer for VCUarts in 2007-2008 at Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2003, they started their career at DDB Dallas as an Art Director until October 2004.

Alex Egner obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Communication Design from the University of North Texas from 1999 to 2003. Later, Egner enrolled in Virginia Commonwealth University, where they completed a Masters in Fine Arts in Design: Visual Communication between 2007 to 2009.
