Christopher Hayter is the current advisor at Tractiv and has been with the company for 2 years and 8 months. Prior to joining Tractiv, Christopher was an Associate Professor at Arizona State University for 7 years and 11 months. While at Arizona State University, Christopher's research focused on the future of science, including the the grand challenge model of R&D, public-private partnerships to accelerate the development of vaccines for the developing world, and factors of success among faculty and student entrepreneurs.

In 2012, Christopher took a leave of absence from Arizona State University to become a Visiting Research Fellow and Student at the University of Vienna. While at the University of Vienna, Christopher continued their research on the future of science and also took German classes and studied Austrian history and culture.

After their time at the University of Vienna, Christopher became the Executive Director, Policy Evaluation and Transformation at the New York Academy of Sciences. In this role, Christopher worked with governments, industry, and academia to design and implement programs and policies to support entrepreneurship and capacity building in research institutions. Some of Christopher's previous projects include: strategic planning and evaluation for the Qatar National Research Fund and Qatar Foundation, evaluation of Malaysia's public research universities and laboratories, strategic planning for Malaysia science advisor, planning and evaluation of NY Energy Research and Development Authority Proof of Concept Centers, analysis of public-private vaccine development efforts for the developing world, evaluation of national innovation systems for the Russian Government, strategic planning for the State University of New York (SUNY), and strategic planning for New York University, Chief Innovation Officer.

Christopher's experience in both academia and policy has given him a unique perspective on how to support entrepreneurship and drive innovation. Christopher's work at Tractiv is focused on helping startups navigate the early stages of product development and commercialization.

Christopher Hayter holds a Ph.D. in Economics and Technology Policy from The George Washington University, an M.A. in Science and Technology Policy from The George Washington University, and a B.S. in Public Policy from the US Coast Guard Academy.
