Joshua Essert is a CISSP and GPEN certified professional with a diverse range of work experience spanning over 20 years. Joshua has held various roles in the field of information security and technology, consistently demonstrating a strong commitment to ensuring compliance, managing risks, and implementing effective security measures.

Starting their career as a Network Support Specialist at Wayzata School District in 1999, Essert went on to work at Fairview Health Services as a Financial Insurance Representative before transitioning to roles focused on information security.

At Japs-Olson Company, they served as a Systems Administrator, overseeing operational and maintenance efforts for various IT systems and networks. Essert then joined TCF Bank as a Security Analyst II, where they were responsible for troubleshooting and implementing security solutions.

Continuing their career at Sunrise Banks, Essert held the position of VP, Director of Information Security, leading policy and procedure development, security initiatives, and risk evaluations. Joshua also served as an Information Security Coordinator at Sunrise Banks, overseeing the design, integration, and audits of company-wide security policies.

At General Mills, Essert worked as an IT and Web Security Analyst, collaborating with IT and Vendor Management teams on security projects and conducting vulnerability testing. Joshua later joined Insite Software as a Sr. IT Risk and Compliance Manager, developing and maintaining the enterprise-wide Information Security Program to ensure compliance with security and privacy requirements.

Most recently, Essert has served as the Chief Technology Officer and Chief Information Security Officer at Tradition Capital Bank, where they have played a key role in overseeing technology and security functions.

Throughout their career, Essert has consistently demonstrated expertise in areas such as cyber security risk assessment, vulnerability management, incident response, identity access management, and regulatory compliance. Joshua'sextensive experience and certifications make him a valuable asset in the field of information security.

Joshua Essert obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Metro State University, where they studied from 2002 to 2005. Joshua later pursued a Master's degree in Information Assurance and Security from Capella University, completing their studies from 2010 to 2012.

In addition to their academic achievements, Joshua holds several certifications in the field of information security. In 2007, they obtained the A+ and Network+ certifications from CompTIA. Joshua further enhanced their expertise by acquiring the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification from Microsoft in November 2009. In July 2010, Joshua successfully became a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) through ISC2. Joshua later earned the GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN) certification from GIAC in January 2016.
