Alex Cardenas

Alex Cardenas is an accomplished psychiatrist and founder of Thyself Care, a position held since April 2024. Cardenas also serves as a Staff Psychiatrist at Traditions Behavioral Health and a Psychedelic Training Specialist for Subtle Winds since May 2022. In addition, Cardenas has been a mentor at the California Institute of Integral Studies since May 2019, holding a certificate in Psychedelic Research and Training. As a cofounder and Executive Director of the American Psychedelic Practitioners Association from March to December 2022, Cardenas contributed significantly to the field. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine degree and a Master of Arts in Policy, Organization, and Leadership Studies from Stanford University, a Residency in Psychiatry from San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Yale University.
