Rachel Hickman has a diverse work experience in various industries. Rachel started their career as a Summer Intern at HealthTrust Purchasing Group in 2015, where they worked closely with the supply chain management team. Rachel then worked at Table 3 Restaurant as a Hostess from 2016 to 2017, where they managed guest inquiries and reservations. Rachel then worked at Wings Etc. as a Server in Auburn, AL in 2018. Rachel then joined Sonesta Hotels as a Food and Beverage Intern, rotating between different outlets. In 2018, they also worked at Pork Belly Farmhouse as a Hostess Server, overseeing the dining room and training new employees.

Rachel Hickman has a diverse education history. In 2010, they obtained a high school degree from Maggie Walker Governor's School for Government and International Studies. Following that, from 2014 to 2018, they attended Auburn University and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Administration/Management. Continuing their education, Rachel pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Data Analytics at LSU Shreveport from 2022 to 2023.
In addition to their formal education, Rachel has also obtained various certifications. In 2017, they completed the Introductory Sommelier Course from The Court of Master Sommeliers. The following year, in 2018, they earned the Certified Hospitality Industry Analyst (CHIA) certification from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI). Rachel further expanded their expertise in wine by acquiring the Level 2 Award in Wine from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust in 2019. In 2020, they became an Executive Bourbon Steward through the Stave & Thief Society. Most recently, Rachel achieved the Level 3 Award in Wine from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust in 2021 and the Level 1 Award in Spirits in 2022, also from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust.
