Tanya L. Wilson-Thomas is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in veteran services and community engagement. Currently serving as a VA Benefits Coordinator and the C4 Whole Health Coordinator at the New York City Department of Veterans' Services since March 2017, Tanya manages clinical aspects of the Whole Health Model and oversees outreach projects related to military caregivers. Concurrently, Tanya is a board member of The David & Dovetta Wilson Scholarship Fund, Inc. and has been a TAPS Peer Mentor since May 2006. Previous roles include Senior Case Manager at Catholic Charities Community Services and various positions at the VA Medical Centers in New York and Virginia, highlighting a strong commitment to community service and support for veterans. Tanya holds a BA in Psychology from Norfolk State University and a Certificate as an Administrative Assistant from Grace Institute.

Founded out of tragedy in 1994, TAPS has grown and established itself as the front line resource to families and loved ones of our military men and women. TAPS has provided comfort and care, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through comprehensive services and programs including peer based emotional support, case work assistance, crisis intervention, and grief and trauma resources. TAPS provides ongoing emotional help, hope, and healing to all who are grieving the death of a loved one in military service to America, regardless of relationship to the deceased, geography, or circumstance of the death.
