Steve Bunting has diverse work experience in the field of sound engineering and development. Steve began their career as a trainee technical engineer at Technical Earth in July 2003 and worked there until August 2004. Following that, Steve worked as a sound engineer at Guildford Civic Hall from January 2002 to June 2003. Steve then freelanced at Atlantic Audio from April 2005 to October 2008, working as a FOH/Monitor engineer and system technician for various shows and tours in the UK and Europe. Starting in May 2008, Steve also worked as a freelance sound engineer for Capital Sound Hire Limited. Presently, they are employed as a full-stack developer at Trail since January 2021. Additionally, Steve has a wide range of freelance experience, working as a professional live sound engineer, system technician, and audio consultant for numerous artists and companies worldwide. Their clients include Tom Jones, Michael Ball & Alfie Boe, Level 42, Pixie Lott, and Universal Records, among many others.

Steve Bunting has a diverse education history. Steve began their education at The Wheldon School, where they attended both secondary school and sixth form college from 1994 to 2001. After completing their secondary education, they went on to pursue a BMus (Hons) degree in Music and Sound Recording (Tonmeister) at the University of Surrey, attending from 2001 to 2005.

In 2017, Steve decided to enhance their skills in computer science and enrolled in an online course called "Introduction to Computer Science" offered by edX. Steve successfully completed this course, earning a degree named "CS50x."

Additionally, Steve has obtained certifications in Dante from Audinate. In August 2017, they received both Dante Certification Level 1 and Dante Certification Level 2 from Audinate.
