Joseph Howley IV

CEO & Founder at TrainerMD

Joe Howley IV is the CEO and founder of TrainerMD. Prior to this, they worked as a district sales manager for General Nutrition Centers, Inc from January 2006 to December 2007. In this role, they were responsible for supporting the regional sales director and overseeing six high-profile GNC retail stores. Joseph also recruited staff and trained store managers and their teams.

Howley was recognized as one of the company's top sales managers and was in training to take over a regional sales director position. Joseph frequently travelled to other GNC regions to conduct training seminars for managers and staff. Howley and their team set an impressive number of sales records at GNC, which they credited to the development of the lifestyle sales training program they had developed for their team. The training program dramatically increased vitamin sales, as well as other key performance indicators.

Upon deployment of their program, the vitamin conversion ratio district-wide increased from 12% to more than 30%. This rapid performance increase had never been achieved prior at any other GNC retail store location. Howley's district training store in Cambridge was internationally recognized when it went from ranking almost dead last in the company prior to introducing the training program, to the #2 store in the world (out of 5,000 stores) in less than 12 months.

Joseph Howley IV has a Bachelor's degree in Management & Marketing from Bridgewater State University and an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice from Massasoit Community College. Joseph is certified as a personal trainer by the American Sports & Fitness Association and as a sports nutrition specialist by the American Sports & Fitness Association.

Some direct reports include Stephen Schmitz - Chief Supplement Officer, Jerry Kissiday - Head of Operations, and Scott Lutch - Chief Medical Officer.
