Kathy Janzen

Kathy Janzen is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in payroll, benefits administration, and human resources management. Currently serving as a Senior Specialist in Pension & Benefits at TransAlta since October 2025, Kathy previously held the role of Team Lead for Payroll & Benefits at Enerplus from May 2016 to September 2025, leading a team responsible for administering payroll and benefits for approximately 500 employees across Canada and the USA, while managing compliance and driving process improvements through several corporate transitions. Prior experiences include roles at Lightstream Resources Ltd, Petrobank Energy and Resources Ltd, and Koch Petroleum Canada, where Kathy contributed to numerous payroll systems implementations, regulatory compliance, and strategic HR initiatives, further strengthening a career built on delivering operational excellence and enhancing employee benefits programs. Kathy holds a degree in Business Management from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT).
