Melchior Looijen

Melchior Looijen is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in the aviation sector. Currently serving as General Counsel and Head of Industry Affairs at Transavia since November 2017, Looijen is also a Co-Founder and Stakeholder Steward of Sustainability Circle. Prior to this role, Looijen was a Director for The Netherlands on the Board of Airlines International Representation in Europe (AIRE) until December 2021 and has held various legal positions including General Legal Counsel at Corendon and Legal Counsel at KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. Looijen began a legal career at Boekel De Nerée, specializing in procurement, construction, and administrative law. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in International and European Law from Utrecht University and a Master’s degree in Politics with a focus on International Relations from the University of Amsterdam.
