Jorge Vargas Romero

Jorge Vargas-Romero currently serves as Vicepresidente de operaciones and Gerente de Activos at Transelec S.A since December 2020. Additionally, Jorge is a member of the Board of Directors at Conelsur and previously held the position of Gerente general at Conelsur from August 2016 to November 2020, where Jorge was instrumental in establishing the company and enhancing service performance. Jorge's extensive experience at Transelec includes roles as Gerente Zona Central, Gerente Zona Sur, Ingeniero Senior de Planificación, and Analista de sistemas electricos, contributing significantly to the management and operation of transmission assets in various regions. Academic contributions include teaching positions in electrical engineering at Universidad de la Frontera and Universidad de Santiago de Chile. Jorge holds an MBA from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, a Power System Engineering credential from GE Learning Center, and a degree in civil engineering in electricity from Universidad de Santiago de Chile.
