Pedro Romero

Pedro Romero , MD, is a professor at the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne, where he has worked since 2003. He is dedicated to tumor immunology and cancer immunotherapy, in particular the biology and dynamics of CD8 cytolytic T lymphocyte (CTL) responses. He is also the editor of the Journal for ImmunoTherapy of Cancer .

Previously, Pedro performed research in the Department of Medical and Molecular Parasitology at New York University School of Medicine before joining the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research (ILRC), Epalinges, Switzerland, in 1989. In 2001, he became Director of the Division of Clinical Oncoimmunology at the ILRC in Lausanne.

Pedro holds multiple patents and has co-authored over 320 research papers describing his scientific work in the area of ​​peptide-based immunotherapy and T cell responses.

Pedro received his medical degree from the National University of Colombia Medical School in Bogota.
