Policy Lead at Transit

Stephen Miller is currently the Communications Lead at Transit. Prior to this, they worked as a Spokesperson and Transit Data Analyst at Transit from October 2017 to August 2018. Before that, they were a Freelance Journalist from June 2016 to September 2017, covering urban policy and transportation in CityLab, Gothamist, the Village Voice, and City & State. From October 2015 to May 2016, Stephen Miller was the Legislative and Budget Director for Majority Leader Jimmy Van Bramer in the New York City Council. Stephen also served as the Chair of the Committee on Cultural Affairs and Libraries. From August 2012 to October 2015, Stephen Miller was a Streetsblog NYC Reporter for OpenPlans. From January 2009 to July 2011, they were the Urban Pathways Coordinator for Rails-to-Trails Conservancy. And finally, from June 2008 to December 2008, Stephen Miller was the Coordinator of Trail Development for Rails-to-Trails Conservancy.

Stephen Miller attended Cornell University where they earned their BS in Urban and Regional Studies. Stephen then went on to earn their Master’s Degree in City and Regional Planning from Pratt Institute.
