Ari Helgason is an experienced venture capital professional and entrepreneur with a strong focus on climate transition and investment in innovative startups. Currently serving as a Partner at Transition since September 2021, Ari collaborates with Seed and Series A founders to promote sustainable practices. As a Board Member of Kría, an Icelandic government-owned fund, Ari contributes to the growth of specialized venture capital within the region. Previously, Ari held the position of Principal at Index Ventures, where involvement included overseeing multiple portfolio companies, and served as a Senior Associate at Dawn Capital, focusing on early-stage investments. Ari co-founded WOAH, leading it as CEO before its acquisition and rebranding as Uphance, as well as co-founding Fabricly, which was backed by Y Combinator. Academic qualifications include a First Class BSc (Hons) in International Relations from The London School of Economics and Political Science.
