Des Coughlan

Des Coughlan is an experienced professional in the field of analytical chemistry and pharmaceutical development, currently serving as the R&D Analytical Laboratory Manager at Transitions Optical since July 2017. Prior experience includes roles as R&D Analytical Manager at Mylan, Laboratory Manager for Small Molecules at PPD, and R&D Team Leader at Mylan, where responsibility involved delivering sterile injectable products. Des has also held positions such as API Development Manager at Ipsen Manufacturing, Quality Engineer at Creganna Medical, and R&D Analytical Lab Manager at Boston Scientific, where notable achievements included the development of a state-of-the-art laboratory. Previously, Des was the Analytical Chemistry Section Head at Elan Pharmaceuticals, focusing on pharmaceutical batch release test methods.
